“The Agency is currently taking necessary technical measures to rectify the breach, secure the platform, and restore normal operations.”

It further advised Nigerians to disregard any suspicious content on the website during this period, while apologising to members of the public for any inconvenience caused by the breach.
“In the meantime, the general public is strongly advised to disregard any suspicious content, misleading information, unauthorised announcements, or fraudulent solicitations for money that may appear on the compromised website or be circulated through related channels,” the agency added.
“The Agency regrets any inconvenience this situation may cause and assures the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issue promptly and strengthen the security of its digital platforms.”
Hackers occasionally target websites of Nigerian government agencies. Several other agencies have had website breaches or defacements in the past, including the
National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), whose website was hacked in 2024 and temporarily displayed “page hacked” messages.
