As insecurity continues to affect communities across Katsina State, News Central is convening another edition of its Town Hall series, creating a platform for meaningful dialogue on one of the country’s most pressing security challenges.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the Katsina Town Hall themed: ‘From Fear to Safety: Survivors, Security, and the Future of Katsina’, will bring together survivors, community leaders, traditional and religious leaders, security stakeholders, policymakers, civil society organisations, and residents for an open conversation on the realities of banditry, kidnapping, and their impact on everyday life.

Across several communities in Katsina, thousands of families continue to live with the consequences of persistent insecurity. Farms have been abandoned, businesses disrupted, children forced out of school, and many residents continue to navigate an uncertain future. The Town Hall provides an opportunity to bring those experiences into a constructive conversation focused on practical solutions and shared responsibility.

The discussions will examine the broader social and economic consequences of insecurity, including its effect on agriculture, education, local commerce, and community development. Participants will also explore practical steps that can strengthen security, restore public confidence, and support communities working to rebuild their lives.

The event is designed to create space for open, respectful dialogue. Survivors will share their experiences, community representatives will highlight realities on the ground, while security agencies, government officials, and policy experts will discuss the challenges they face and the actions required to improve the security situation.

The Katsina edition builds on News Central’s commitment to developmental journalism and public interest reporting. Through its Town Hall series, the network continues to create opportunities for informed conversations that connect citizens with decision-makers and encourage greater accountability on issues that directly affect people’s lives.

The News Central Town Hall will be broadcast live across News Central’s television and digital platforms, allowing audiences across Nigeria and beyond to follow the discussions as they unfold.
