Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX) announced an interim dividend of ₦1.30 per ordinary share on Sunday, following a record performance in the first half of the year.
In a statement issued on Sunday, July 26, Clifford Akpolo, head of group communications and partnerships, NGX Group, noted that revenue surged by 118 per cent to ₦17.60 billion, while profit before tax grew 170 percent to ₦14.76 billion.
High market activity drove transaction fees up by 169 percent to ₦13.34 billion, and total assets expanded to ₦75.87 billion.
The financial surge stemmed primarily from heightened trading volumes and broader income streams across the capital market value chain.
Listing fees rose 59 per cent to ₦2.38 billion, while technology income increased 19 per cent to ₦447.86 million.
Strong operating leverage ensured that income growth significantly outpaced expenses, boosting operating profit by 155 per cent to ₦10.62 billion.
Contributions from investment holdings further bolstered the group’s results.
NGX Group recorded a 130 per cent increase in its share of profit from equity-accounted investees, reaching ₦4.14 billion.
The Central Securities Clearing System Plc drove much of this growth through its strong operational performance over the six months ending 30 June 2026.
The earnings boost significantly strengthened the company’s financial balance sheet. Shareholders’ equity rose from ₦55.20 billion at the end of 2025 to ₦60.49 billion by mid-2026.

The board confirmed that the qualification date, register closure, and payment schedule for the ₦1.30 dividend will follow standard regulatory timelines.
Confidence in the Group’s Long-Term Prospects
Key financial highlights for the first half of 2026 include total income rising 96 per cent to ₦19.34 billion and profit after tax growing 146 per cent to ₦10.36 billion. Total assets reached ₦75.87 billion, supported by the ₦1.30 per share interim dividend payout to qualified members.
Group Chairman Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Kwairanga, commenting on the performance, said, ‘The Board’s approval of an interim dividend of ₦1.30 per share reflects the strength of NGX Group’s first-half performance and our confidence in the Group’s long-term prospects. We are encouraged by the significant growth recorded across the business and by the increasing contribution of companies within the Group’s investment portfolio.”
Outlining the operational strategy, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Temi Popoola, said, “Our first-half results demonstrate the strength and scalability of NGX Group’s business model. Revenue growth was supported by significantly higher transaction activity, increased listing income and stronger contributions from our investee companies.
