The North-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to intensify voter mobilisation across the region as it begins preparations for the 2027 general elections and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s zonal leadership at its headquarters in Kaduna, where officials reviewed the political landscape in the region and outlined strategies for the next election cycle.
In a statement issued by the APC North-West Zonal Publicity Secretary, Musa Mada, the party described the North-West as a crucial political stronghold, noting that the region played a significant role in President Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
The party expressed confidence that it could improve on that performance in 2027 through intensified grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagement.
As part of its strategy, the APC said it would embark on a tour of the seven North-West states to engage party stakeholders, strengthen grassroots structures and identify measures to consolidate support ahead of the elections.
The party also noted that all seven North-West states are currently governed by the APC, describing the development as a reflection of the region’s strategic importance to the party.
The zonal leadership commended Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for donating a utility vehicle to support party activities, saying the gesture demonstrated his commitment to strengthening the APC in the region.
It also acknowledged the support of APC governors across the North-West, noting that their contributions have sustained the operations of the party’s zonal headquarters.
The APC further praised key party figures from the region, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, ministers and other political officeholders appointed by President Tinubu, for their continued support for the administration and the party.
The party urged its members and leaders to sustain the momentum as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace.
