Some communities in Lekki will experience a scheduled power outage for three days as Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) begins network upgrade works in the region.

The EKEDC, in a statement shared on X on Wednesday, disclosed that the power outage will take place from March 13 to March 15, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

“Please be informed that an equipment upgrade will be carried out at the Waterfront Injection Substation (ISS) involving the replacement of obsolete 11KV panels with new ones. This upgrade is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and quality of power supply to our valued customers,” the statement read in part.

The DisCo listed Oriwu, Akinyemu, New Creation, Jide Sawyer, U3 Estate, Remi Olowude, Blue Water, Five Palms, Twin Water, Providence Street, Akanbi Disu, and Iron Bar as areas affected by the scheduled power outage.

It also listed Babatunde Kuboye, Mike Adegbite, Akwuzu, Omorinre Johnson, Ladipo Omotosho, Olori Muyibat, Furo Ezimora, Efunyemi Onanuga, Prof. Akinkunmi Street, Diamed Medical Centre, and surrounding areas as locations that will be affected.

The EKEDC further apologised to the residents of these areas for the inconvenience this scheduled power outage may cause, urging their understanding and patience as it commences network upgrade work
