Police Arrest Alleged Fake Agency Chief Adeyemi in Osun

Police operatives have arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed director-general of the disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State.

The Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), Okokon Iniedu, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, saying Adeyemi was picked up by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

“We have just confirmed the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi by a team of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Osun State. Thank you,” Iniedu said in a message obtained by Channels Television.

A video released alongside the confirmation showed Adeyemi being questioned by police officers after his arrest.

The police have not released further details about the operation, but the arrest came shortly after a court issued a bench warrant against him.

The warrant was issued after Adeyemi failed to appear in court for his scheduled arraignment.

Further details on the arrest are expected as investigations continue.
