Brazilian forward Lucas Ribeiro took home four awards, including the player of the season title, at the annual South African football awards gala held in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
Ribeiro’s impressive performance earned him the player of the season award, as determined by the 16 head coaches, as well as the players’ player of the season, the goal of the season, and the leading league scorer accolades.
These achievements follow the 26-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns forward’s spectacular goal against Borussia Dortmund being recognised as the best of the 2025 Club World Cup hosted in the United States.

Among other international award winners were Zimbabwean goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze, who played for the unexpected League Cup champions Magesi, and Miguel Cardoso, the Portuguese manager of the league champions Sundowns.
