Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday following the decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran.
The truce, which had been nearing its expiration, was prolonged to facilitate further diplomatic dialogue.
Sharif emphasised the importance of this reprieve, noting that it provides a critical window for both nations to move toward a more stable and peaceful resolution.
Writing on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister urged both Washington and Tehran to maintain the cessation of hostilities.

He expressed his sincere hope that the upcoming second round of negotiations, scheduled to take place in Islamabad, would lead to a comprehensive “peace deal.”
