Sports world will miss slain journalist Ahmed Hussein

Ghanaian undercover journalist Ahmed Husein who was shot dead in the capital Accra was part of a team led by controversial journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, whose probe led to the resignation of the head of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi.

A part of his work helped expose corruption in African football and saw Kenyan referee Aden Marwa banned for life. Dozens of football referees and officials were also sanctioned.

A police spokesperson said the journalist was shot in the neck and the chest by unknown gunmen on his way home.

Prior to his death, Husein had made a complaint to police after his pictures were published on national television.
