President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda, where he is expected to participate in high-level international summits and meetings.
The trip was disclosed in a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who said the president’s itinerary would begin in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
In Kenya, Tinubu is scheduled to attend the Africa-France Summit, co-chaired by France’s President Emmanuel Macron and Kenya’s President William Ruto, which will be held from May 11 to May 12.

The summit will focus on key issues, including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and reforms to the global financing system, under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”
According to the statement, Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with African countries and France while engaging in discussions on economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and peace-building.

The statement read in part, “President Tinubu’s first stop will be in France, after which he will depart for Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.
“Co-chaired by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto, the summit focuses on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture, and climate action.
“President Tinubu’s participation at the summit from May 11th to May 12th. will underscore Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African nations and the French Republic.”
Following the Kenya summit, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 and 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to bring together more than 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers to discuss strategies for driving economic growth through regional integration and cross-border investment. It is being held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation.
During the events, Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s economic reform agenda and hold meetings with global and African business leaders to position Nigeria as a key investment destination.
He will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after the engagements in Rwanda.
