The United Nations (UN) nuclear watchdog has issued a stern warning to Iran, demanding “constructive” cooperation to resolve outstanding questions about its nuclear activities.
According to a confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) seen on Friday, the agency underscored the “utmost urgency” of verifying the status and location of all nuclear material within the country.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi called on Tehran to engage more effectively to ensure the full implementation of international safeguards.
The report highlights a critical “loss of continuity of knowledge” regarding previously declared nuclear materials at several Iranian facilities.
This gap in monitoring makes it increasingly difficult for inspectors to guarantee that such materials have not been diverted for non-peaceful purposes.

The agency’s frustration stems from a long-standing impasse over access and transparency.
For months, the IAEA has struggled to maintain its surveillance network and verify the nature of activities at specific sites.
The report serves as a formal plea for Iran to restore comprehensive oversight, warning that the lack of clear data is a significant hurdle to international diplomacy and regional security.
