Valencia Football Club have sacked coach Carlos Corberan and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ron Gourlay on Sunday after a poor start to the Spanish La Liga season.
The club sit bottom of the league after five matches, with no wins and four defeats.
Valencia said the decision was intended to begin a new era in the club’s sporting structure and football management.
“The decision marks the will of the club to start a new era in the sporting structure and area of football management,” the club said in a statement.
Reserve team coach Oscar Sanchez will take charge temporarily while the club searches for a permanent replacement for Corberan.
The sackings come as Valencia fans continue to protest against Singaporean owner Peter Lim and his son Kiat, who has served as club president since March 2025.
