Kelsea Tadiwa Tafirenyika, the 22-year-old second wife of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s twin son, Collins, has been arraigned on charges of unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs after police allegedly uncovered narcotics during a raid on her Harare home.
Tafirenyika appeared in court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody until Thursday for a bail hearing after prosecutors indicated they would oppose her release pending trial.
Prosecutors told the court that officers from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Drugs and Narcotics Unit raided her residence on Edgehill Close in Greystone Park, Harare, where they allegedly recovered pethidine, morphine and cannabis from the house and a vehicle parked within the property.
According to court documents, detectives launched the operation after receiving intelligence on August 4 alleging that Tafirenyika was selling pethidine from her home.
“On 4 August 2026, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare received information to the effect that the accused was dealing in Pethidine at her place of residence,” the affidavit reads.
“On the same day at about 2000 hours, Detectives proceeded to house [on] Edgehill Close, Greystone Park, Harare and approached the accused’s premises.
“Detectives entered the accused’s bedroom and found her seated on her bed counting some ampoules, placing them on the bed.
“Detectives approached the accused, identified themselves to her as police detectives by producing identity cards and recovered 8 ampoules of Fresenius Pethidine, 10 ampoules of Verpat Pethidine and 7 x 1ml of Fresenius Morphine Sulphate from the accused.
“Detectives further carried out searches in the accused’s house and recovered 72 ampoules of Verpat Pethidine, 64 Fresenius Pethidine ampoules and 43 ampoules of Morphine Sulphate from drawers in the accused’s bedroom, leading to her arrest.
“Detectives also searched the accused’s White Lamborghini,… and recovered 5 rods of dagga from the driver’s armrest.”
