The sum of N470 billion has been earmarked for university revitalisation in the 2023 budget, according to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari stated this during the 2023 budget estimates presentation to the joint session of the National Assembly, on Friday.
With a budget estimate of N19.76 trillion, Buhari renewed his appealed to university lecturers to show a better appreciation of the country’s current economic situation.
The president urged lecturers to return to classrooms and added that universities must find means of funding instead of solely depending on the government.
