Fire Destroys Properties at Ghana's Kantamanto Market (News Central TV)

An early morning fire outbreak at the Kantamanto market in Accra Tuesday November 29, 2022 has destroyed goods and properties worth thousands of cedis.

No casualty was recorded, however, the cause of the fire that destroyed over 15 shops near the railway line at the Kantamanto market is yet to be ascertained.

Despite exhausting several tanks of water to salvage the situation, reports indicate that rescue teams from the Ghana National Fire Service were unable to stop the fire in good time, due to a shortage of water.

Many affected traders joined in the rescue operation with headpans of water in effort to douse the fire. More vehicles from the Fire Service, however, arrived at the scene moments later to quench the raging fire.
