Hardship: NLC Moves Protests to Nigeria’s National Assembly

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have escalated their nationwide demonstrations to the National Assembly (NASS) where they are urging action on the prevailing economic crisis gripping the country.

The protesters directed their call for intervention to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, holding placards with the hashtag #ENDHUNGERANDPOVERTYNOW, and chanting their demands.

Despite talks with the Federal Government, the NLC commenced their planned nationwide protest today, Tuesday February 27, in Lagos and other major cities in Nigeria, citing the pressing issue of the high cost of living that poses a significant threat to livelihoods.
