Nigerian-British singer, actress and author Patricia Ngozi Komlosy OBE (née Ebigwei), known professionally as Patti Boulaye clocked 70 years today, May 3.
“It’s officially my birthday today. Yeah. Thank God I made it to another year. Such a great blessing,” she wrote on her X handle.
Born in 1954, Boulaye rose to prominence after winning New Faces in 1978, and was one of the leading black British entertainers in the 1970s and 1980s.
Back in Nigeria, she is known as the Lux Girl in reference to the Lux beauty soap commercials she starred in during the 1970s, and majorly because she was the face of the brand for 29 straight years.
Her show, “The Patti Boulaye Show” was one of the most popular television shows, and aired on several Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) stations.
