Flytime Music Festival Day 3: Meghan Thee Stallion Twerks A Storm In Lagos

What a night! Day 3 of the Flytime Music Festival packed Eko Convention Center in Lagos again as US rapper and creator of “Hot Girl Summer” wave, Megan The Stallion delivered a lengthy set on Sunday, December 22, 2019.

Day 3 of the set featured a dedicated Alternative night where the best of Nigerian Alte movement offered hits from their counterculture movement, with performances from Odunsi The Engine, Showdem Camp, Tomi Thomas, Lady Donli and more. The event attracted the young holiday demographic in large numbers who came with the energy to charge the room.

After a string of performances from openers, Host Jimmie Akinsola, led the crowd in chants before the arrival of the headliner, Meghan Thee Stallion. The rapper who soundtracked 2019 summer with the ‘Hot girl summer’ movement, has spent her breakthrough year combining banging beats with sexy dancing to storm her way into global stardom.

Nigeria was no exception. Meghan was embraced by the crowd, with ragers flooding the stage and twerking with abandon. She ran through her biggest hits including the platinum-selling ‘Cash sh*t’.

Davido was a welcome cameo. Announced onstage by Meghan, the Nigerian superstar delivered a short but rousing performance of hit singles ‘Risky’ and ‘Blow my mind.’ The show would round off with more twerking and shouts of a good time.

Flytime Music Festival continues its march. After the success of Pepsi Rhythm Unplugged, and the classic nostalgia from Boyz II Men on Day 2, Meghan The Stallion continues the series. Up next is he Everything Savage concert, headlined by Tiwa Savage on the 23rd of December. The festival will close on Christmas Day with a headliner concert by Burna Boy.
