Alvarez, linking with Giuliano Simeone, fired home his fourth league goal since his summer move from Manchester City. The match at Son Moix Stadium was tightly contested, with Alvarez breaking the deadlock in the 61st minute.
Atletico Madrid kept their lead secure, with Jan Oblak making critical saves against Cyle Larin and Abdon Prats. While Rodrigo Riquelme had a chance to extend the lead, Mallorca held firm but couldn’t find an equaliser.
