Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has commended Kylian Mbappé for his continuous improvement, praising the forward’s growing involvement and humility both on and off the pitch.
Since completing his long-anticipated move from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, the 26-year-old Frenchman has scored 16 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions. Notably, Mbappé has found the net in all three finals Madrid have contested this season: the European Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup.
In his last two matches, Mbappé delivered impressive solo goals, further solidifying his form ahead of Sunday’s La Liga clash with Las Palmas.
Speaking at a press conference, Ancelotti highlighted Mbappé’s evolving role in the team. “Every day that passes, he looks to be more and more involved, especially with what he does on the pitch,” said the coach. “His attitude off the pitch hasn’t changed—he’s always very calm, available, and humble. His growing involvement on the field is showing a very high level, and that helps us all. It seems like he gets better with every game.”
Madrid currently sit second in La Liga, one point behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who face Leganés later on Saturday.
Ancelotti also provided updates on the squad, revealing that Austrian defender David Alaba, sidelined since December 2023 due to a severe knee injury, is likely to make a substitute appearance. Brazilian teenager Endrick, who scored twice in extra time to secure a Copa del Rey victory against Celta Vigo on Thursday, is expected to start on the bench.
With Vinícius Júnior suspended, Ancelotti confirmed his front three for the Las Palmas match: Brahim Díaz, Mbappé, and Rodrygo.
