Kolo Muani Double Leads Juventus to Victory, Inter Set for Key Milan Derby

Randal Kolo Muani continued his impressive start at Juventus, scoring both goals in their 4-1 victory against Empoli in Turin on Sunday. Meanwhile, Inter Milan is preparing for a crucial derby against AC Milan later in the day.

The France striker helped Juve recover from a 1-0 deficit in the first half, with Dusan Vlahovic and Francisco Conceicao sealing the win late in the game. Despite going behind early to a fourth-minute header from Mattia De Sciglio, Juventus quickly bounced back, with Kolo Muani scoring twice in quick succession in the second half to give his team the lead.

After a disappointing 2-1 loss at Napoli the previous week, Kolo Muani, who scored on his debut, netted the equalizer in the 61st minute by brushing past Empoli’s Saba Goglichidze and finishing confidently from close range.

He then put Juve in front just three minutes later, diverting a wayward shot from Timothy Weah past the Empoli goalkeeper Devis Vasquez. Empoli’s situation worsened when Youssef Maleh was sent off for a second yellow card, reducing them to 10 men.

Vlahovic, who had been dropped in favour of Kolo Muani, then added a goal in the 90th minute, his first since mid-December, before Conceicao wrapped up the win in stoppage time.

Despite the win, Juventus’ performance raised questions, as they failed to dominate a struggling Empoli side, who are now just one point above the relegation zone.

Later in the day, Inter Milan will look to put pressure on Napoli with a win over AC Milan in the highly anticipated Milan derby. A victory at the San Siro would lift Inter level with Napoli on 53 points, making the clash crucial for both teams.

However, the derby will be missing some of its usual fanfare, as the Italian police have banned pre-match fan displays due to an ongoing crackdown on ultra supporters. This follows a police investigation into illegal activities linked to hardcore fans, with several arrests made in connection with mafia infiltration.

Inter will also complete their away fixture against Fiorentina on Thursday, after the match was stopped in December due to a medical emergency on the pitch involving Edoardo Bove of Fiorentina.
