John Stones Apologizes to Fans After Manchester City’s Humbling Defeat to Arsenal

John Stones expressed his anger and disappointment following Manchester City’s heavy 5-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, apologising to the fans for the team’s lacklustre second-half performance.

After City equalised early in the second half, the game took a dramatic turn when Thomas Partey’s strike deflected in off Stones, giving Arsenal the lead just two minutes later. Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz, and Ethan Nwaneri further compounded City’s misery, with the defeat marking a painful reminder of the Gunners’ revenge for missing out on the title in recent years.

Stones was visibly frustrated with the way the game unfolded, admitting that both individually and collectively, the team felt the loss deeply. “I’m angry, upset, personally and collectively for how the game finished,” he said. “All of us don’t take losing well. It’s hard to put into words straight after the game. Sorry to the fans. To travel and come and watch how we played in the last 30 minutes is unacceptable.”

The loss left Manchester City with their seventh Premier League defeat of the season, leaving them 15 points behind leaders Arsenal and effectively out of the race for the title, which they had won for four consecutive years.
