Police in Edo State have rescued an abductee, recovered a stolen vehicle, and arrested a suspected cultist who shot a man.
According to a statement by Edo Police Command spokesman Moses Yamu, operatives of the Ologbo Division rescued Osazee Okungbowa from his abductors on February 8, 2025. He had been kidnapped by five armed men at his residence the night before.
The police also recovered a stolen vehicle snatched in Benin City, which was abandoned by the suspects after a chase.
Additionally, officers arrested a suspected cultist, Kelly Osayawe, who shot a man during a burial procession in Benin. The suspect was caught with a locally made pistol.
