Philip Billing kept Napoli right on the heels of Serie A leaders Inter Milan with a dramatic late equaliser in Saturday’s thrilling 1-1 draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
The Denmark midfielder, on loan from Bournemouth, scored his first goal for Napoli just three minutes from time, following a rebound after a save by Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez. Billing’s effort came after a driving run from Stanislav Lobotka, keeping Napoli in second place, just one point behind Inter.
Until then, it had looked like a stunning 22nd-minute free-kick by Federico Dimarco would secure a vital win for Inter in their quest to defend the Scudetto. Simone Inzaghi’s side were under constant pressure, relying on some resolute defending to hold on for all three points.

Inter’s failure to convert in key matches this season continues to frustrate Inzaghi, especially after they dominated the league last season. Napoli’s point is a much-needed boost for them after a mixed February, but it also proved to be a lifeline for Atalanta, who remain third despite their struggles at home.
Atalanta, without a win at home in domestic competition since January, could not break down Venezia, drawing 0-0 at home and allowing other top teams to pull ahead in the Scudetto race.
