Fatal Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Claims Four Lives

At least four individuals lost their lives, and nine more suffered various injuries in an accident that occurred in the Alapako area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday evening.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed this information in a statement released on Monday.

Odutola noted that a damaged section of the road resulted in a tyre puncture on a Toyota Hiace bus, causing the vehicle to overturn and that the crash’s force led to the fatalities of four people, including the driver and several passengers, while nine others were hurt.

“The Ogun State Police Command sadly reports a deadly single-vehicle accident that took place on March 9, 2025, around 8:35 PM in the Alapako section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.” She said.

Odutola added that the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, and the deceased were transported to the FOS morgue in Ipara.

She urged drivers to consistently conduct proper vehicle maintenance and follow safety guidelines while highway travel.
