A Polish man with an intense obsession for horror films received a life sentence on Friday in the UK for killing and dismembering his landlord, slicing the body into 27 pieces with a hacksaw.
Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, fatally struck his friend, the 67-year-old pensioner Stuart Everett, multiple times with a hammer on March 28, 2024, as stated in Manchester Crown Court.
He then discarded Everett’s remains by placing the dismembered parts into plastic bags and transporting them on public buses, making several trips around Salford and Manchester in northwestern England to eliminate the evidence.
A member of the public discovered Everett’s torso at a Salford nature reserve. However, a significant portion of his body is still unaccounted for.

Law enforcement reported that the murderer had an obsession with horror and gore, even sporting a tattoo of Jason Voorhees, a fictional killer from the “Friday the 13th” slasher franchise.
Judge John Cavanagh remarked, “You behaved in an almost unimaginably cold-blooded and horrific manner, exhibiting total disrespect and contempt for your friend’s remains.”
The judge noted that Majerkiewicz had been burdened with over £70,000 in debts and intended to steal money from Everett. A father of two, Majerkiewicz pleaded not guilty to the charges but was found guilty by a jury after a three-week trial.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to serve at least 34 years.
