US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he had a productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasising their alignment on issues such as trade and Iran.
“The call went very well—we are on the same side of every issue,” Trump declared on his social media platform.
This conversation occurs as the United States and Iran continue nuclear programme discussions, which began in Oman and Rome and are scheduled to resume this week.
Trump had previously indicated that his administration had held positive meetings with Iranian representatives.
Iran, however, accused Israel of attempting to “undermine” these negotiations. The New York Times reported that Trump had discouraged Israel from launching immediate attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, advocating for diplomatic efforts.
Netanyahu has maintained that Israel would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, irrespective of ongoing US-Iran talks.

Western nations and Israel, considered the sole nuclear-armed state in the Middle East, have long alleged that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons.
Iran consistently denies these accusations, asserting that its nuclear programme is solely for civilian purposes.
Trump withdrew the US from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which had eased sanctions in exchange for limitations on Iran’s nuclear activities.
Consequently, Iran has gradually violated the agreement’s terms, particularly by enriching uranium to higher levels.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran has enriched uranium to 60 per cent, nearing the 90 per cent threshold for weaponisation, and is accumulating significant amounts of fissile material. The 2015 agreement had limited Iran’s enrichment to 3.67 per cent.
