ADC Leadership Resigns For David Mark, Aregbesola

National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, has announced that the party’s executives, under his leadership, have opted to resign and back its interim leadership headed by the former Senate President. David Mark,

Nwosu made this statement in Abuja on Wednesday during the event that introduced the ADC as the coalition party in preparation for the 2027 elections. He stressed that the purpose of the opposition coalition is not merely to seize power, but to elevate Nigeria to “global reckoning.”

The unveiling event, which drew politicians from several political factions, including the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), took place at the Yar’Adua Centre.

The unveiling was initially planned for the Wells Carlton Hotel in the Asokoro area of Abuja, but it was later relocated to the Yar’Adua Centre.

Just a few hours before the event, the hotel’s management informed the organisers that the venue could not host the unveiling due to an unspecified “internal compliance matter.”

The event’s attendees included Peter Obi, the LP presidential candidate in 2023, Rauf Aregbesola, the former Interior Minister, Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto, former Senate President David Mark, Akeem Baba-Ahmed, Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, Solomon Dalung, the ex-minister of sports, and Odigie Oyegun.

Additionally, other notable figures present were Abubakar Malami, the former attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Dino Melaye, and Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine.
