Ruling APC Moves Party Meeting to Aso Villa

There was a slight drama on Wednesday as President Bola Tinubu suddenly moved the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

The meeting was originally planned to take place at Buhari House, the party’s national headquarters. Many party members were surprised by the last-minute change, especially as preparations, including a large tent, had already begun at the original venue on Tuesday evening.

The APC explained the change in a brief statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who said it was for “logistical reasons.” However, no further explanation was given, leaving some members confused.

In the middle of this, the APC is also mourning the passing of Mr. Abraham Olu, a long-serving and respected staff member at the national secretariat, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

In a message of condolence, the party described him as hardworking and dependable, saying his death is a big loss to the APC family.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and colleagues at this difficult time,” the party said. “May his soul rest in peace.”
