Moroccan Doctors Stage Gaza Hunger Strike

Hundreds of doctors across Morocco took part in a one-day hunger strike on Thursday to protest Israel’s ongoing starvation of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The action was organised by the Moroccan non-governmental organisation “Doctors for Palestine” to show solidarity with medical workers in Gaza and to raise awareness about the severe humanitarian crisis caused by the Israeli blockade.

Dr Ahmed Zeroual, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon participating in the strike, told Anadolu Agency that the protest aimed to highlight the suffering endured by Gaza’s healthcare personnel and the wider Palestinian population under the siege. He explained that the strike is part of a broader global movement supporting the Palestinian cause.

Dr Zeroual, who spent six weeks working in hospitals in Gaza earlier this year, said hundreds of doctors from across Morocco answered the call to join the hunger strike. The protest seeks to draw international attention to the critical conditions faced by medical workers and civilians due to the blockade.
