The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed-Jauro, has dismissed reports claiming that members of a Boko Haram splinter group are operating in the state.
Speaking at a press briefing, CP Mohammed-Jauro explained that the police command had been alerted to social media posts alleging that a faction of the terrorist group, identified as “Wulo-Wulo,” had infiltrated parts of the North Central region.
He clarified that a thorough and coordinated investigation, carried out in partnership with other security agencies and local vigilante groups, found no evidence to support the claim.
The Commissioner assured the public that security within Nasarawa remains stable, adding that surveillance has been intensified, especially across border communities, to ensure continued safety.
He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to enhancing community policing efforts and strengthening intelligence gathering to prevent any security threats in the state.
