The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has called on Nigerians to prioritise locally made products to strengthen the nation’s economy and boost employment.
In a video message shared on X by former presidential aide Reno Omokri on Saturday, the billionaire industrialist appealed to citizens to support homegrown industries rather than relying on imported goods.
Dangote emphasised that patronising local products was key to building a resilient and prosperous economy.
He said, “I want to encourage all Nigerians to buy only made-in-Nigeria products. When you buy anything made in Nigeria, you are helping to create jobs.
“The only way for us to become a stronger nation is by supporting ourselves and purchasing made-in-Nigeria goods so that we can generate jobs and prosperity. Thank you, and may God bless you.”
Dangote, who has long championed Nigeria’s industrial growth, continues to expand his conglomerate’s operations across key sectors such as cement, sugar, salt, and oil refining — all aimed at reducing the country’s dependence on imports and driving self-sufficiency.
