Human rights activist and #FreeNnamdiKanuNow campaigner Omoyele Sowore was re-arrested by the Nigerian Police shortly after his court appearance at the Kuje Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Sowore, along with Prince Emmanuel Kanu—brother of Nnamdi Kanu and a former member of his legal team—and 10 others, had earlier met their bail conditions.
The court had granted them bail of ₦500,000 each, requiring two sureties residing within the Federal Capital Territory who must present valid identification and evidence of three years of tax payment.
Despite fulfilling these conditions, police officers reportedly detained only Sowore and took him to Kuje Prison shortly after the court session.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, October 27, on a new charge linked to his statement alleging that President Bola Tinubu is a criminal.
