NDLEA Nabs UK Fugitive, Seizes 148kg Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has detained 40-year-old Yussuf Abayomi Azeez, a UK fugitive, at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.

Azeez, who was en route to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, had been monitored for several months due to his involvement in drug trafficking. Agents quickly searched Azeez’s hideout in Lekki, located at 17 Vincent Eku Street, and found him with 43-year-old Abideen Kekere-Ekun.

The NDLEA’s Directorate of Forensic and Chemical Monitoring dismantled his secret laboratory and confiscated 148.3 kilograms of synthetic cannabis called ‘Colorado’, along with precursor chemicals and other illegal substances.
