The Lagos State government has announced plans to reroute traffic along the Lekki-Ajah corridor for road repairs. The construction is set to begin on November 15, 2025, and is expected to conclude on July 15, 2026, as communicated by Alausa.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the transportation commissioner for Lagos, said in a release that the rehabilitation work has been split into two phases to lessen traffic interference.
“The project, with preliminary works already in progress, will be carried out in two phases to minimise traffic disruption,” the statement reads.
The first phase will start from the Lekki first toll gate to the Lekki second toll gate, while the second phase will run from the Lekki 2nd toll gate to the Ajah underbridge.
The government has indicated that certain sections of the Lekki-Ajah road will experience partial closures throughout this period, urging commuters to exercise patience and adhere to traffic instructions.
