The naira posted its first gain against the US dollar on Tuesday across both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.
Figures from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the currency trading at N1,445.39 to the dollar on Tuesday, an improvement from Monday’s rate of N1,448.44.
This marks a day-to-day appreciation of N3.05.

Tuesday’s uptick in the official market was the first recorded since November 26, 2025.
In the parallel market, the naira also advanced by N5, closing at N1,470 compared with N1,475 the previous day, according to several Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
The gains come as Nigeria’s foreign reserves climbed further to $44.67 billion as of November 28.
