Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Katsina on Sunday for an official visit during which he will flag off the second phase of the Community Investment Fund and commission several major infrastructure projects, his office announced.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, disclosed this in a post on X.
The visit is expected to begin at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, where Shettima will officially launch Community Investment Fund II under the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up.
“The 540-million-dollar programme, financed by the World Bank and the Federal Government, is designed to expand economic opportunities for women, strengthen women-led community groups and improve access to finance, particularly for women in rural and underserved communities,” Nkwocha wrote.
“The programme builds on the achievements of the first phase of the Nigeria for Women Project, implemented between 2018 and 2024, with the new phase focused on expanding its reach and deepening its impact across the country.
