Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi will miss Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semifinal against Morocco due to suspension.
The midfielder received two yellow cards during the knockout stages, triggering an automatic one-match ban.
The first caution came in Nigeria’s round-of-16 win over Mozambique, while the second was issued during Saturday’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria for time-wasting in the 67th minute.

Ndidi was later substituted in the 69th minute after sustaining a hamstring injury from a challenge outside the penalty area.
Ndidi has been a key figure in Nigeria’s midfield, providing defensive stability throughout the tournament.
His absence leaves a gap that coach Eric Chelle may fill with Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika.
The Super Eagles are set to face Morocco’s Atlas Lions on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, as they aim to reach the AFCON final.
