Morocco’s Atlas Lions defeated Nigeria’s Super Eagles on penalties to qualify for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after their semifinal ended without goals in Rabat.
The match, played at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, finished 0–0 after 90 minutes and extra time, with both teams well organised defensively and few clear chances created. Morocco went on to claim a 4–2 victory in the penalty shootout.
The hosts converted four of their spot kicks, while Nigeria failed to score twice, allowing Morocco to secure progression. The result sets up a final meeting with Senegal on Sunday.
Nigeria came into the semifinal with a 100 percent record in the tournament and adopted a measured approach against the host nation.
Morocco controlled possession for long periods, particularly in the opening exchanges, while Nigeria relied on structure and discipline to limit space.

Nigeria entered the contest unbeaten in the tournament and approached the game cautiously against the hosts. Morocco had more of the possession in the early stages, while Nigeria grew into the match as it progressed.
Neither side was able to break the deadlock in normal time or during the additional 30 minutes, so the match was decided from the penalty spot.
