The U.S. Department of State has announced that an additional 250,000 special commemorative passports featuring a portrait of President Donald Trump will be made available nationwide, following overwhelming demand for the document celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
The commemorative passport, known as the “Patriot Passport,” features custom artwork including a portrait of President Donald J. Trump alongside the text of the Declaration of Independence, a “Freedom 250” gold flag, and an image of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.
“Since its release in celebration of 250 years of American independence, the commemorative passport has generated extraordinary public interest,” the department said in a statement on Thursday.
The department said it was expanding access so Americans across the country could obtain the document.
“The Department of State is responding by expanding access so Americans across the country can obtain this unique and special document. The Department is hosting application events at passport agencies and centers for patriots all across our nation.”
Application events are being hosted at passport agencies and centres nationwide.
Appointments are required to apply for the “Patriot Passport.”
Interested applicants can visit travel.state.gov/passport250 for information on application events and scheduling appointments .
