Heavy snow and rain have killed at least 61 people in Afghanistan in the last three days, the country’s disaster management authority said on Saturday.
The deaths happened between Wednesday and Friday, mostly in central and northern parts of the country, according to the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA).
The agency said 110 people were injured and 458 houses were damaged or destroyed.

About 360 families were affected by the bad weather.
An ANDMA spokesman warned people to avoid travelling unless necessary, especially on snowy roads.
The Salang highway, one of the country’s main roads, was closed because of snow, officials in Parwan province said.
Authorities also said food was provided to travellers stranded on a mountain pass in Bamyan Province due to the weather.
