The Kano State government offered its condolences on Monday to traders at the Singer Market following a devastating fire that had destroyed goods valued at billions of naira.
Officials expressed deep sympathy for the victims as the state began assessing the total impact of the inferno on the popular commercial hub.

Governor Abba Yusuf described the incident as unfortunate and deeply distressing. He assured the affected traders of the administration’s support and solidarity as they cope with the aftermath of the disaster.
The governor stated that the government would work with relevant stakeholders to explore practical measures to assist traders and mitigate the losses incurred.
He also prayed for divine comfort and strength for the victims, urging them to view the situation as an opportunity to rebuild.
In addition, the Kano State government directed all relevant authorities, especially the Kano State Fire Service, to step up fire prevention measures and conduct public awareness campaigns across markets and commercial centres to avert similar incidents in the future.
