Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Wednesday that a major prisoner-of-war exchange with Russia is anticipated “in the near future.”
Speaking in his daily address, Zelenskyy emphasised the urgency of repatriating captured Ukrainians as diplomatic discussions between Moscow and Kyiv concluded in Abu Dhabi.
The talks in the United Arab Emirates, aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict now entering its fourth year, have paved the way for what the president described as a “significant step” toward bringing captives home.

While specific numbers and dates have not yet been released, the announcement signals a breakthrough in humanitarian negotiations following the high-level meetings.
