President Bola Tinubu has directed a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak at the popular Singa Market in Kano state, noting that such incidents often leave traders devastated and struggling to recover.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the incident as tragic and extended his sympathies to those affected.

The fire reportedly began on Saturday evening and continued into Sunday morning, destroying a large section of the popular food market and causing heavy losses to traders.
Tinubu reportedly contacted Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for an update on the situation. He expressed concern that the latest incident occurred just two weeks after a previous fire that had razed several shops and other property at the same market.
The President has directed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the repeated outbreaks.
