A strike by aviation workers has disrupted flight operations at Kenya’s main airport in Nairobi, leading to delays for passengers on Monday.
Kenya Airways said some departures and arrivals were affected due to air traffic control delays at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, one of Africa’s busiest aviation hubs.

The industrial action stems from a dispute between the aviation workers’ union and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. The union has raised concerns over unresolved worker grievances, including the failure to finalise a collective bargaining agreement.
Last week, the union issued a seven-day notice signalling its intention to strike. In response, the aviation authority sought a court order in an attempt to halt the planned strike.
As of Monday, the standoff began to affect flight schedules, with travellers experiencing delays at airports.
