Voting has commenced on Saturday at UNG Pashe/Central Primary School in Karu, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), as residents cast ballots for chairpersons and councillors.
Election officials have set up Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines at the school’s 10 polling units, and All Progressives Congress (APC) agents were verified and tagged before taking positions.

Security officers were present for surveillance at the polling units.
Across the Federal Capital Territory, 1,680,415 registered voters are expected to cast ballots at 2,822 polling units, supported by 4,345 BVAS machines. INEC has accredited 88 domestic and international observer groups to monitor the process.

The elections cover AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, and Abaji, with 637 candidates from 17 political parties contesting 62 political wards. Officials say voting is proceeding in an orderly manner as election officers ensure all materials and systems are in place.
