The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cautioned Nigerians over a fraudulent recruitment link circulating online, distancing itself from what it described as a fake and misleading website.

In a notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) platform on Saturday, the commission clarified that the website being promoted as “INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026” is not authorised and did not originate from the electoral body.

INEC explained that it had no connection to the link currently in circulation and urged members of the public to avoid engaging with it.

The commission further warned Nigerians not to submit personal or sensitive information on the platform, noting the risks associated with such fraudulent schemes.

Reaffirming its official procedures, INEC stated that any genuine recruitment exercise would only be announced through its verified website and established communication channels.

It stressed that all official information regarding employment opportunities would be disseminated exclusive these platforms.

The commission also called on the public to ignore the circulating link and remain vigilant against online scams, especially as preparations for future elections intensify.

For enquiries or clarification, INEC advised Nigerians to contact the commission through its official lines.

It reiterated that its ad-hoc staff recruitment is conducted solely through its recognised platform, INECPRES, and not through third-party or unauthorised links.
