NIS Suspends US Visa Centre Operator

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended the operations of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), the company responsible for managing Nigeria’s Visa Application Centres across the United States.

In a statement on Thursday, the service said the suspension took effect on 1 July 2026 and will remain in place until further notice.

The NIS advised prospective travellers and Nigerians living in the United States who require visas to enter Nigeria to submit their applications directly to Nigeria’s diplomatic missions there.

“Effective from 1st July, 2026, the service of Online Integrated Solution (OIS SERVICES), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application Centers in the United States of America has been suspended until further notice,” the statement read.

Following the suspension, applicants seeking Nigerian visas in the United States must submit their applications through the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or the Consulates General of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta.

Nigeria Scraps Third-Party US Visa Processing

The immigration authorities did not provide details on the reason behind the suspension or indicate how long the review of OIS Services’ operations would last.

The development affects visa applicants who may previously have relied on outsourced centres for submission and processing services. Travellers planning visits to Nigeria have been advised to use the designated government diplomatic channels to avoid delays or disruptions.

The NIS said the new arrangement will remain in effect pending further communication on the status of the visa application centres operated by OIS Services.

The suspension comes as Nigeria continues efforts to streamline its visa processes and strengthen oversight of services provided to international travellers and Nigerians abroad.
