South Africa intercepts 700kg cocaine consignment

Police in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on Tuesday intercepted and seized a consignment of cocaine weighing 700 kilogram and is valued at about $50million.

Acting on a tip-off, investigators raided a container ship which docked in Ngqura and found the drugs stashed at the bottom floor of the vessel, 706 bags containing a kilogram each of cocaine.

The ship had arrived from Brazil and was India via Singapore bound.
