Scoring a goal during a football match is great, but scoring a hat-trick is even greater. Scoring three goals that would edge their team to victory in one single match remains on the bucket list of many footballers, but this is a rare feat that only a handful of footballers have achieved.
The UEFA Champions League has seen seven footballers score hat-tricks this season, with Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth becoming the latest footballer to make the list. Sørloth scored three goals in Atletico’s dominant 4-1 victory over the Belgian side in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 playoff tie at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
Aside from the Norwegian forward, Real Madrid footballer Kylian Mbappé, and the Nigerian-born Galatasaray footballer Victor Osimhen who have scored hat-tricks this season.
